- ALIMENTOS JACK’S DE CENTROAMERICA S.A.
Visit and lecture at Jack’s Industries, the leading industry in Costa Rica of chips, candy bars, snacks and cereals. A family-run business for 40 years, Jack’s has been able to innovate their products continuously and is a company all Costa Ricans are proud to have. The plant, located in Pavas, has a total area of 18,400 square meters, generates annually 2,688 metric tons of snacks, 645 metric tons of sorbets and 1,864 metric tons of cereals, covering the entire country with their products. The exportation markets includes Panamá, Nicaragua, Guatemala, República Dominicana and other Caribbean countries. Total net sales last year were 20 million dollars.

One of the most outstanding dairy production businesses in Latin America, according to Revista Alimenticia (Nutrition Magazine), which named Dos Pinos “Central America’s Little Giant”, this cooperative is number-one company in national sales, processes 85% of commercial milk in the country, the main provider of raw material for cattle, both dairy and beef was awarded the nation’s best exporter in 2004.

AmCham organization consists of 400 companies and 1300 corporate representatives divided almost 50/50 between Costa Rican and US interests. This membership represents a widely diverse section of economic activity — agriculture, livestock, aquaculture, importers/ distributors, tourism, manufacturing, business services, construction and non-profit organizations. The Chamber’s membership represents 80% of Costa Rica’s foreign direct investment and 80% of the country’s exports.
